Flexeserve sweeps the board at GBCC Awards
In a rare double win at the prestigious annual GBCC Awards, Flexeserve’s team was delighted to win both awards entered.
The world leader in hot-holding won Excellence in International Business and Excellence in Sales & Marketing at the GBCC Awards 2022, presented by the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce on Friday 4th March 2022 at the ICC, Birmingham.
Jamie Joyce, CEO of Flexeserve, said: “It was an incredible night for the business. We were blown away to receive this recognition from the Chambers in two fields. We were up against stiff competition in both categories, and these awards underline the level of our team’s success.”
A gripping GBCC Awards
It was an exciting evening for Flexeserve. Pleased to have been shortlisted, the team was thrilled to be announced as the winner of Excellence in International Business. Unsure a double win was even possible, they were ecstatic to hear Flexeserve’s name again, for Excellence in Sales & Marketing.
This year’s awards recognised the remarkable achievements of businesses during the most challenging of times. The event featured speeches from the Chamber’s President, Deb Leary OBE and CEO, Henrietta Brealey, as well as Mayor of The West Midlands Combined Authority, Andy Street.
Jamie continued: “Even with the challenges of the last couple of years, we have secured and fulfilled pivotal, large-scale rollouts. We’ve led customers through the pandemic, helping them achieve their goals for high quality hot food, increased sales and reduced waste, and everyone has risen to the occasion.”
Flexeserve is developing a taste for being an award-winning business, having also won the award for Excellence in Manufacturing at the LeicestershireLive Business Awards 2020/21 in September last year.
Two great wins, one great vision
For the Excellence in International Business Award, Flexeserve detailed its expansion into the U.S., and the ways in which it has overcome the challenges of the pandemic. Flexeserve has experienced exponential growth in its international sales, with much of that increase taking place in North America.
With the Sales & Marketing Award, the theme of overcoming challenges was key once again, with Flexeserve creating and broadcasting Flexebition – its own livestreamed digital exhibition, in the absence of in-person events.
Warwick Wakefield said: “The work behind each of our two awards is strongly linked. Our success overseas, and in the U.S. in particular, is driven partly by our approach to Sales & Marketing. We regard our team as ‘experts’ rather than salespeople – working closely with customers to deliver a unique, all-encompassing service called Flexeserve Solution. Through this, we advise on all the culinary, technical and operational aspects required for a successful hot food programme.”
Words from the Chambers
The GBCC awards judges were impressed that Flexeserve’s international business had grown exponentially, tripling total sales since 2018, with export sales now representing 76%.
They also highlighted that it had launched Flexeserve Hub, not only during the pandemic, but in response to it – as lockdowns drove growth in the food delivery market.
Henrietta Brealey, Chief Executive of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce, said: “These awards are well deserved after the incredible year that Flexeserve has had, with impressive growth underpinned by a range of new sales and marketing initiatives.
“They have excelled on the international front too and, having worked with them closely, we’ve seen how they’ve strategically used their membership of the Greater Birmingham Transatlantic Chamber of Commerce to forge new connections and expand their customer base in the U.S.”
A team effort
Jamie concluded: “I want to personally thank all that were involved in the winning of these awards – both in terms of the submissions themselves and the work showcased within them – but ultimately, I want to thank every Partner at Flexeserve. These awards are the result of great teamwork – everything we achieve, we achieve together.”
